What is it

We design and run a smart, compliant waste programme from on‑site segregation and scheduled removals to reverse logistics via consolidation, so your project cuts waste, lowers emissions and keeps workfaces clean and safe.

Our Waste Management capability turns construction by‑products into a controlled, auditable flow. It covers segregation at source, safe handling and temporary storage, scheduled removals, and reverse logistics (returning reusable packaging and materials through our consolidation hubs), all tailored to space‑constrained urban sites. By linking waste to delivery planning and consolidation, we reduce vehicle movements and improve housekeeping across the build.

Wilson James lists waste management as a core part of our construction logistics service set, delivered alongside site set‑up, materials movement and traffic/delivery management so the waste plan is fully integrated with how your site operates day to day.

How We Deliver It

Capabilities that move our customers forward, where strategy meets execution

01 Plan early, design for segregation
02 Operate cleanly at the workface
03 Use consolidation for reverse logistics
04 Measure, assure, improve
We engage at pre‑construction to set project‑specific waste streams, locate containers, and define signage and safe routes. Your Traffic Management Plan is aligned to waste movements, including co‑ordination of removals and hold areas, so collections are safe and do not clash with deliveries or pedestrian routes.
On site, we stage labelled containers, manage hazardous and COSHH‑controlled materials appropriately, and keep lay‑down areas clear minimising slips, trips and damage while maintaining productive workfaces.
Where appropriate, we route packaging and reusable items (e.g. timber crates) through the Wilson James Consolidation Centre (WJCC) for return or recycling, reducing skips on constrained plots and avoiding waste costs. Studies associated with the WJCC show high recycling rates and measured waste reduction when consolidation is used.
We provide regular performance updates (streams, volumes, removal schedules) and adjust container zoning and collection profiles as phases change aiming for fewer vehicles to site, lower CO₂, and cleaner work areas, outcomes evidenced in published WJCC data.

What Clients Gain

Clear advantages, measurable impact, and momentum that lasts.

Less waste, cleaner sites

01
Consolidation and reverse logistics help reduce waste materials on projects and improve housekeeping benefits recorded in WJCC metrics and case narratives.

Fewer vehicles & lower emissions

02
By staging removals and using consolidation, projects see fewer trips to site and significant CO₂ reductions tied to lower HGV movements outcomes documented in Wilson James LCCC reports and independent summaries.

Safer, compliant operations

03
Waste movements are embedded in the Traffic Management Plan, with routes, marshalling and timings planned to protect workers and the public while meeting duty‑of‑care obligations.

A single, integrated partner

04
Because we deliver waste, delivery, and consolidation together, you gain one accountable provider with the experience and infrastructure to keep your programme on track while meeting sustainability goals.
